The Sea Turned Red

Excerpts from BeingKind  - A Brave New Race by Linda G Palma:

When all turned red
I turned to the sea
It was there I fled
It was calling me

The wind in my hair
And a cool northern breeze
With a flicker and a flare
It beckoned me

I swam for the living
It was cold, it was warm
But I kept on swimming
Into a mighty storm

I emerged unseen
Beyond nothingness
The world behind me
Only blue with loneliness

And there I drift
Along with my dreams
To reflect on my past
Or of what it seems

The salt erodes
And there I float
Where seagulls land
To nourish their souls

today's world

In our current milieu, I find myself referring back to my novel where we can learn much during these crucial crossroads of our life. Quotes from BeingKind - A Brave New Race:  "Race!"  There was fire in my sister’s eyes. “After all, what does race truly mean? Our government uses this term to acknowledge hatred. Their contradictions reflect the wrongdoings and inept thinking of the past. No genetic markers define race within a species. All of humankind should have been considered as one race. Ethnicity and the color of one’s skin should not have dictated to the segregation of diverse classifications. It is as if the humans considered their native origin to be subclasses within their species. It is a biological myth and an ignorant reference we must continue to eliminate!”
